Origin

In 2019 we grew our first carpet of dwarf hairgrass in a 12 m² rented room. It failed four times. The fifth one filled the entire substrate.

That tank ended up in the corner of a café. Three months later the owner asked whether we could build one — a bigger one.

Today YUYZLL has a studio with its own nursery tanks, a catalogue that runs from seiryu stone to full-spectrum light, and a service that runs from design drawings to the monthly water change. We still only do one thing: make water look like a piece of land.

Three things we don't do

1. We don't sell plants that die in a month.Everything is acclimated in our nursery for at least three weeks, so it arrives already used to living in water.
2. We don't build drawings that can't exist.If the structure won't hold or the load is unsafe, we say so in the first conversation.
3. We don't leave the care to you.For full builds we handle every trim and water test for the first three months.
